European Free Media Toolkit born!

On 16 and 17 September 2025, during the Team Europe Democracy (TED) Annual Meeting (refer to NSM#BLOG News Corner), a toolkit aimed at collaborating with media outlets and journalists to uphold information integrity was introduced. The TED Network had invited Tom Law, Director of the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), to transform the idea into reality, inspired by the Austrian Co-Chair's proposal to implement the 2024 OECD Principles for Independent Media Support at European level. The NSM laid the groundwork by launching the Uniting for Democracy - Supporting Free Media Appeal in collaboration with the Press Club Concordia in Vienna. The final toolkit will be accessible on capacity4dev.europa.eu/_en, the EU's brightest platform for development expertise.
