HUMANITARIAN - DEVELOPMENT - PEACE NEXUS

The Grand Debate

For more than thirty years, international crisis and conflict management has centred on models of ‘good cooperation’, not only between intervening partners, but also with the local population. Terms such as localisation, context sensitivity, human security and resilience, and the goal of a coordinated, coherent approach characterise the discourse. On the ground – that is, in crisis situations, during the latent phase of conflict and throughout the extensive reconstruction process – many lessons learnt are lost. Austria is playing a pioneering role in implementing the “Nexus.” The latest issue of TDHJ Special Edition explores this topic.

As the co-editor from the very beginning and leading the journal’s first five years, I would like to thank all the members of my advisory board, my editorial office, and the more than 80 authors who supported me in building the journal and made it possible!
